Divorce affects our self-esteem and shatters our confidence. If we’ve been abandoned and rejected for another person, we may feel as if we’re not enough – not pretty enough, not thin enough, not smart enough, et cetera.

Those are lies straight from hell !

Remember who you really are. You are a unique creation of God. No one else is exactly like you.tiara - purple

You have gifts and talents that fit you perfectly. Before you were born, God designed your life and he still has a good plan for you.

Divorce cannot steal who you really are.

To remind myself of who I am, I sometimes wear a tiara around the house. Just putting on my tiara helps me stand up straighter, feel more royal and reminds me I am a daughter of the King of kings.

It also helps to speak positive affirmations to myself. Try it! Look in the mirror and tell yourself:

  • “I am beautiful.”
  • “I am greatly loved by many people.”
  • “My children think I am the best mother in the world.”
  • “I am highly valued by God.”
  • “I have a great path ahead of me.”
  • “I am royalty and thus – I deserve respect.”
  • “I will believe the truth and ignore the lies.”
  • “I AM enough; in fact, I am MORE than enough.”
  • “Even though I am Starting Over Single, I’ll be just fine.”

Remember what you’re going through now is only a season, and seasons always have an ending. You’ll make it through.

Just continue to remind yourself of who you really are. Royalty !

“But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted” (1 Peter 2:9-10 MSG).
